Minioskokpa Museum of Art

Project Overview

Minioskokpa Museum of Art, located in downtown Fargo, utilizes masonry, concrete, and glass as its focus materials. With this project, I took inspiration from the picturesque northern Minnesota wetlands on the way up to Fargo from Minneapolis. Connecting the building with the land it occupies, the design features a post-tensioned structure with a large cast-in-place concrete column representing a dead log rising up from a pond. A glass curtain wall mimics still pond water, and brick, taking up the rest of the facade resembles a muddy shoreline.
